0.2mL Silicone Oil-free syringe
The Zero Residual™ 0.2mL silicone-free syringe is the first silicone-free syringe designed for intravitreal injections that has been CE approved under the new MDR guidelines. The length of the Zero Residual™ 0.2mL silicone oil-free syringe was carefully selected by ophthalmologists. This has resulted in a small syringe with a superb feel.
Luer Lock vs Luer Slip
There are two types of attachments for intravitreal syringes: Luer Lock and Luer Slip. A Luer Lock ensures a tighter fit of up to 40% compared to a Luer Slip. Therefore, a Luer Lock has less chance of leakage and needle pop-off problems. When using small-size needles, it is recommended to use a Luer Lock syringe. For this reason, the Zero Residual™ 0.2mL silicone oil-free syringe has a Luer Lock attachment.
When using 1mL syringes for a 0.05mL injection only 1/20 of the syringe’s total volume is used. This results in a stroke length of only 3mm for a 0.05mL injection. The Zero Residual™ 0.2mL silicone oil-free syringe uses 1/4 of its total volume resulting in a stroke length of over 11mm. This allows for better dosage control and a better feel during the injection of small volumes of medicine. It makes the Zero Residual™ 0.2mL silicone oil-free syringes the most accurate CE certified syringe on the market.
Zero Residual™ volume
The design of the Zero Residual™ 0.2mL silicone oil-free syringe allows for zero waste of expensive anti-VEGF medicines. This makes the syringe the most economically interesting syringe to be used for intravitreal injections. The syringe itself has an advantage of at least 20uL over currently used 1mL silicone oil-free syringes.
